Modes of Course Delivery
 

The following information outlines the difference between the types of courses we offer, followed by a listing of
which format is available for different grades/subjects.  To view sample lessons, please contact one of our registrars.

Regardless of which type of course a student takes, his/her teacher is accessible any time during office
hours by phone, email, Instant Messenger, or fax.
 

TEACHER-PACED ONLINE COURSES

ONLINE SELF-PACED and CORRESPONDENCE COURSES

Daily teacher-initiated contact

Students contact teachers as needed

Online lessons delivered daily and/or weekly by teachers

Online units downloaded by students according to teacher's timeline

Students are accountable to their teachers on a daily and/or weekly basis

Students self-pace their work but are required to meet unit deadlines

Ideal option for students who require structure and deadlines in their program

Ideal option for the gifted and/or motivated student choosing to accelerate his/her program or needing extra flexibility

 

Teacher-Paced Online Courses (Grades 4-12)

  • Daily teacher initiated contact
  • Daily and/or weekly lessons contain multimedia and online activities
  • IDEAL FOR STUDENTS REQUIRING STRUCTURE

 

Self-Paced Online Courses (Grades 7-11)

  • FLEXIBILITY . . . Students download units and complete them at their own pace but according to teacher's unit deadlines.
  • Courses enhanced by multimedia and online activities
  • IDEAL FOR HIGHLY MOTIVATED AND ORGANIZED STUDENTS

 

Correspondence Courses (Grades 6-12)

  • Completed assignments submitted by FirstClass®, email or fax
  • Courses completed on a semester or linear timeline according to the teacher's unit deadlines
  • IDEAL FOR THOSE PREFERRING A PEN AND PAPER OPTION
