St. Mary's Announces New Vice Principal

Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools is pleased to announce that Shari Gustafson will begin her new positon as Vice Principal of St. Mary’s School in the fall.  Mrs. Gustafson will replace Mrs. Karen McCallum who will retire this June. 

Mrs. Gustafson received her Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Calgary and her Masters of Education in School Administration from Gonzaga University.  She joined CTR Catholic in her second year of teaching in 1998 at Holy Trinity Academy, teaching math sciences.  Mrs. Gustafson recognizes the blessing it was to build the mission and vision of St Mary’s with the initial teaching team who opened its doors in 1999 and feels privileged to see its continued growth and evolution, while remaining rooted in Gospel values, service, and academic excellence. Mrs. Gustafson has filled many roles in her time with CTR, including teacher in areas of K-9, Learning Support Early Intervention Teacher, Enrichment and Gifted and Talented Coordinator, Acting Principal, Team Leader and Mentor Teacher.  She has also been a part of the Calgary Regional Professional Development Consortium Board of Directors, Local Professional Development Committee Co-chair, EPC Representative and Negotiating Subcommittee Negotiator.  Mrs. Gustafson is looking forward to working with St. Mary’s talented team of teachers to serve its students and families, focusing on intellectual and moral values through daily encounters with Christ’s love. Principal Brandon Bailey shared, “We welcome Shari to our administrative team.
