Leadership Announcement - Sacred Heart Academy

Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Mr. Art Hanson as Principal of Sacred Heart Academy. Mr. Hanson will replace Mrs. Paulette Chotowetz who is retiring this year. 

Mr. Hanson brings a depth of leadership experience and a long-standing commitment to the Strathmore community, having served as Vice-Principal at Holy Cross Collegiate for the past 17 years. Mr. Hanson’s educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education, with a minor in Special Education, from the University of Alberta, followed by a Master of Education in Leadership and Administration from Gonzaga University. His extensive history in Strathmore has established him as a trusted leader known for his dedication to learning and his ability to foster strong, faith-filled school cultures.  

Mr. Hanson shares, “I am deeply honoured to accept the position of Principal at Sacred Heart Academy. Serving the Strathmore community at Holy Cross Collegiate for the last 17 years has been a highlight of my career, and I am excited to bring that experience to the Sacred Heart family. My background in elementary and special education has always shaped my approach to leadership, and I look forward to working collaboratively with the staff, students, and parents of Sacred Heart. I am grateful for my journey so far and am eager to continue our shared mission of Catholic faith and academic excellence in my new role as Principal of Sacred Heart Academy.”  

Superintendent Dr. Andrea Holowka shares, “It is with excitement and gratitude that I welcome Mr. Hanson into the principalship of Sacred Heart Academy. His many years of dedicated service and deep understanding of the community reflect his strong commitment to Catholic education in Strathmore and position him to lead Sacred Heart Academy confidently into the future.”
