Indigenous Learning

Our Commitment to Indigenous Learning

At Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools, we are committed to fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures, and perspectives within our school communities. Rooted in our Catholic faith and the call to reconciliation, we acknowledge the rich contributions of Indigenous Peoples and strive to create learning environments that honor truth, respect, and understanding.

Through meaningful partnerships, curriculum integration, and cultural learning opportunities, we aim to deepen students' knowledge of Indigenous traditions, languages, and ways of knowing. Our schools engage in land-based learning experiences, classroom discussions, and celebrations that recognize the significance of Indigenous heritage.

Guided by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, we actively work to build relationships with Indigenous communities, incorporate authentic Indigenous resources into our teachings, and provide professional learning opportunities for staff. Our Many and One Committee is dedicated to fostering equity and inclusion, ensuring that Indigenous voices are heard and valued within our schools.

At CTR Catholic Schools, we are committed to walking this journey of reconciliation, learning from the past, and working toward a future of mutual respect and understanding.
