Rupertsland Partnership
Christ the Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is proud to announce a collaborative partnership with the Rupertsland Institute, aiming to enrich our educational environment with Métis history and culture. This initiative includes the co-creation of Social Studies curriculum support documents that provide foundational knowledge of the Métis, ensuring our students receive a comprehensive understanding of this vibrant community.
Our educators benefit from professional development sessions led by Rupertsland Institute representatives, enhancing their ability to integrate Métis perspectives into their teaching practices. Additionally, the partnership grants access to a wealth of resources and facilitates connections with Métis knowledge keepers and elders, enriching the cultural fabric of our schools.
Through this collaboration, we have been able to support students in accessing essential services and technology among other resources and programs.
We also honor Métis culture by presenting traditional sashes to graduating students, celebrating their heritage and achievements.
This partnership reflects our commitment to fostering an inclusive educational environment that respects and celebrates the diverse backgrounds of all students, particularly those of Métis heritage. By integrating Métis knowledge and traditions into our curriculum and school activities, we aim to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation among our students and staff.
