Leadership Announcement - Director of Catholic Education
Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Suzanne Kitt as Director of Catholic Education. This role will complement Grant Gay’s role of Director of Director of Catholic Faith Formation and Director of Technology.
“But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33)
This Bible verse has been instrumental in Suzanne Kitt’s 33-year journey in Catholic education, serving in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta as teacher, administrator, and Supervisor of Religious Education. She has been blessed with the opportunity of mentoring new teachers and new principals, modelling and encouraging them to make their schools “Christ-centred,” placing Jesus at the centre of everything they do, and responding to the spiritual needs of staff and students through faith formation and permeation.
Mrs. Kitt holds a master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition and has led French immersion and Francophone school communities in developing and celebrating the beautiful French language and culture. Throughout her time as school principal, she has been honoured to receive the CCSD Shepherd Leadership Award, Excellence in Catholic Education Award, and the Alberta Distinguished Leadership Award. During the past three years as Supervisor of Religious Education, Mrs. Kitt has become an inspiring and engaging faith keynote speaker to many Catholic school districts in the province of Alberta. She brings enthusiasm, joy, and passion into her faith presentations that make our faith attractive, accessible, and invitational to her audiences. She has also brought her message of faith to many parishes in the City of Calgary and school council meetings for parents.
Faith is the most important aspect of Mrs. Kitt's life, and in Catholic education, she strives to evangelize and pastorally lead others to Christ, showing them that He is “the way, the truth, and the life” who brings meaning and purpose to our lives. She serves as cantor, extraordinary communion minister, and lector at St. Albert the Great Church and is a true witness to the faith.
Mrs. Kitt shares, “I am thrilled and honoured to accept the role of Director of Catholic Education for Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools and join such a dedicated leadership team in supporting the spiritual development of staff, students, and their families. There is something very special about Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools. I look forward to experiencing, contributing to, and celebrating the authentic Catholic education that CTR provides to their students.”
Superintendent Dr. Andrea Holowka shares, “We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Kitt to Christ The Redeemer in the role of Director of Catholic Education. Her extensive leadership experience at both the school and divisional levels will contribute to the deep commitment to Catholic education already present across Christ The Redeemer.”
