Leadership Announcement - Vice Principal, St. John Paul II Collegiate
Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Rebecca Freeman as the temporary Vice-Principal of St. John Paul II Collegiate in the fall.
Mrs. Freeman has served Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools since 2010 and has spent more than fifteen years rooted in the St. John Paul II (JP2) Collegiate community. During her time at JP2, she has served as a junior high teacher, Faith Lead, Religious Studies Team Lead, mentor teacher, curriculum developer, and Interim Vice-Principal during the 2024-2025 school year.
Mrs. Freeman has contributed to the life of JP2 in practical and meaningful ways, including planning school liturgies and faith initiatives, piloting new curriculum and developing shared resources and assessments, helping strengthen the relationship between school and parish, and offering support to staff and students through Catholic teaching, prayer, and encouragement. Her work is rooted in a deep love for Catholic education, a strong understanding of junior high students, and a desire to help build a school culture marked by faith, clear expectations, meaningful learning, and genuine care.
Mrs. Freeman shares, "I am deeply grateful and honoured for the opportunity to continue serving St. John Paul II Collegiate as Vice-Principal next year. JP2 is a community that has shaped me in more ways than I can name, and I am excited to keep contributing to the beautiful school community that our students, staff, and families continue to build together. I look forward to serving our families with faith and care, supporting the good work already happening in our school, and helping create a community where students are known, challenged, loved, and reminded of who God created them to be.”
Principal Jamie Leidl shares, “We are excited to welcome back Mrs. Freeman to the JP2 administration team. Mrs. Freeman’s servant heart, rooted deeply in her strong Catholic faith, shines through in her hard work and passion for our school culture. Mrs. Freeman brings a commitment to ensuring the spirit, values, and excellence of SJPII resonate in all that she does each day. I am excited to see Mrs. Freeman continue to grow in her leadership service to CTR and SJPII.”
