Leadership Announcement - Holy Cross Collegiate

Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Mr. Daniel Patterson as Vice Principal for Holy Cross Collegiate

Dan Patterson has been part of the Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools Division since 2009, when he began his teaching career at St. John Paul II Collegiate, teaching junior high Social Studies and Religion. He then spent three years at St. Anthony's School, where he taught a variety of junior and senior high courses, including Computers, Language Arts, Social Studies, Art, Math, and Finance.  

For the past 13 years, he has been a member of the community at Holy Cross Collegiate, where he has primarily taught senior high Social Studies while also teaching Physical Education, English, and Religious Studies. He currently serves as the Social Studies Team Lead and has enjoyed mentoring many student teachers as they begin their careers in Catholic education.  Mr. Patterson holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Calgary, an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from McMaster University, and a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. He has also completed the division’s Aspiring Leaders program. Outside the classroom, Mr. Patterson enjoys coaching cross country, badminton, and senior varsity girls’ basketball. His family is active within Sacred Heart Parish, where he is currently working with his wife and pastor to support a new platform for baptismal preparation aimed at strengthening connections within the faith community.  Mr. Patterson’s educational background, varied experiences, and his formal and informal leadership will serve him well in his new role as Vice Principal.  

Mr. Patterson shares, “I am deeply honoured to be moving into this leadership position at Holy Cross Collegiate. I look forward to the opportunity to continue serving our students, staff, and families and supporting the faith-filled learning and educational excellence that takes place in our school each day.” 

Principal Lavern Evans shares, “We are thrilled to welcome our new Vice Principal, Mr. Patterson.  Mr. Patterson brings a wealth of experience as a classroom teacher in three different CTR communities. Mr. Patterson is committed to student excellence, student personal growth, and the permeation of the Catholic faith.”
