Religious Education Program
Religious education classes are part of the core program offered at Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools along side language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science. In formal religious education classes, students receive a deep understanding of scripture, Church teaching, sacraments, morality, and justice. Students explore the life and teachings of Jesus as related through sacred scripture, and learn about the traditions and practices of the Church that guide the development of conscience and living out the faith. Students also, live out the faith by taking on good works projects that are tied to curricular outcomes.
All Catholic schools in Alberta teach curricula that are approved by the Catholic bishops of Alberta.
For elementary school and junior high school, the program of studies is delivered through the Growing in Faith, Growing in Christ resource.
For high school, the program of studies is delivered in three courses in the Go and Make Disciples: Living the Great Commission program, which prepares students to see the modern culture through the lens of the Gospel.
