Christ The Redeemer Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Carmen Ostafichuk as the new Associate Superintendent of Human Resources at the Catholic Education Centre. Mrs. Ostafichuk will replace Mr. Vincent Behm who is retiring at the end of August.

Thirty years ago, this fall, Mrs. Ostafichuk joined the division as a first-year teacher. She came to Okotoks for the teaching assignment, the interest in opportunities in a new and growing division and the blessing of teaching in a Catholic school. Throughout her career, she served as a mathematics classroom teacher for 10 years, then as a vice principal for four years, and as principal for 12 years, all at Holy Trinity Academy. She had the pleasure of teaching Religion when she was an administrator. As an administrator, she also was the principal of the summer school at Trinity and taught summer school throughout her school-based career.

For the past four years, she has been the Director of Human Resources where she has worked with principals to meet the staffing needs of their schools, worked with her department to provide the best customer service possible to employees and worked with the senior administration team to take care of the needs of the division.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Ostafichuk shares that she “has remained with CTR because of the strong leadership, the challenging and rewarding work and the incredible individuals she has had the pleasure of working alongside. I am honored and humbled to be able to serve in this new capacity and will continue to work hard to serve this division and all the staff and students who continually remind me that my decision 30 years ago was the right one.”

Superintendent Dr. Andrea Holowka shares, “Mrs. Ostafichuk has been a respected and influential leader within Christ The Redeemer for many years, serving with distinction at both the school and division levels. Her lived faith witness, organizational strength, and deep knowledge of CTR have made a significant contribution within our division, most recently through her leadership in Human Resources. As Associate Superintendent, Mrs. Ostafichuk will have the opportunity to extend her gifts and expertise even further, strengthening and supporting the mission of Christ The Redeemer while positively impacting students, staff, and communities across the division for years to come.”
