Don't forget to wear pink tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 28 in support of Pink Shirt Day! It all started with a shirt... In 2007, students at a high school in Nova Scotia wore pink in solidarity with a Grade 9 student who had been bullied the previous day for wearing a pink shirt. Led by David Shepherd and Travis Price, what started as an act of kindness towards one person, has grown into a worldwide anti-bullying movement. Countless children and youth have been helped by funds raised by #PinkShirtDay. When you wear pink this February 28, you'll be in good (hearted) company! 🩷🩷🩷

All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. - Ecclesiastes 3:20 Our Lenten journey begins today with Ash Wednesday on February 14, a 40 day journey to the cross of Christ. Ash Wednesday is the occasion that marks the beginning of the season of Lent. On this day, Christians around the world attend services and receive ashes upon their forehead to signify penance and a desire to conform ourselves to Christ in humility. The tone of this day sets the tone for the entire season that it begins. Lent calls us to simplify our lives, make do with less, give away our excess, and enter into a self-reflection through prayer. It is a time to sharpen our focus on God through fasting, charity, and prayer.
