Congratulations to this year's Edwin Parr award winners! The award celebrates CTR's outstanding first year teachers.

Congratulations to Mr. Mike Fleck who has accepted the position of Principal of Holy Family Academy. After graduating with a Bachelor of Physical Education, and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, Mr. Fleck began his teaching career at St. Joseph’s Collegiate in 2000. Mr. Fleck has taught in all four divisions in his teaching career including high school science, Grade 8, 6, 5, and 2 homerooms as well as physical education at all levels. In January of 2013, Mr. Fleck joined the administration team as Vice Principal of Holy Family Academy. Mr. Fleck is committed to educational opportunities. He was in the very first cohort of the Christ the Redeemer Aspiring Leaders group in 2007. He attended Start Right in 2013 and the Leadership Essentials for Administrators conference in 2014. Mr. Fleck also regularly attends leadership related professional development in order to gain ideas and improve his practice. Mr. Fleck has taken on various other leadership roles including Elementary Physical Education Lead for Christ the Redeemer, ATA Representative, EPC Representative, NSC member, and at Holy Family Academy over the years, Faith Lead, Technology Lead, and ER lead to name a few. In accepting the role as Principal of Holy Family Academy, Mr. Fleck shares, “Holy Family Academy is an outstanding Catholic school committed to academic excellence in a safe and caring environment. I am humbled and excited to be given the opportunity to serve as it’s next Principal.” Superintendent Dr. Scott Morrison shares, “Mr. Fleck is a talented elementary educator who had served all three schools in Brooks with passion, excellence, and dedication. We are very confident Holy Family will continue to thrive under his leadership.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Susan Currie who has accepted the position of Vice-Principal of St. Anthony's School. Since beginning her teaching career with Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools Mrs. Currie has taught in almost every division at St. Anthony’s School. Her teaching assignments have included a broad range of classes from Kindergarten in Elementary to Junior and Senior High Art, Humanities, Math, Astronomy, and Construction. Mrs. Currie is a committed life-long learner with an educational background as diverse as her teaching experience. She graduated from the University of New Brunswick with First Class Honors and Distinction in her Anthropology, Chemistry, and Education Degrees. She is continually pursuing educational opportunities and has completed CTR’s Aspiring Leaders program, the Start Right Program for Beginning School Leaders and is currently enrolled in St. Mary’s University Leadership Quality Standard Certification program. As a Master Teacher at St. Anthony’s School, Mrs. Currie has taken on various leadership roles in multiple capacities, including that of Faith Leader, Options Leader, Technology Leader, and most recently Leader of the Humanities Division. In accepting this new leadership role of Vice-Principal, Mrs. Currie stated “It’s truly been a blessing working with the wonderful staff and community at St. Anthony’s School over the past decade. I’m greatly looking forward to continuing this journey in a new role in which I can further serve and support the needs of our staff and community.” New Principal Celeste Schrock shares, “Mrs. Currie is a true master teacher having excelled at teaching all levels from kindergarten to high school. She brings a vast knowledge of the various disciplines and exceptional organizational skills to the administration team. She is faith-filled, thoughtful, and intentional in everything she does and establishes strong working relationships with others.” Congratulations!
Staffing Announcement - St. Anthony's Vice Principal
Congratulations to Ms. Betina Gross who has accepted the position of Vice-Principal of St. Anthony's School. After graduating from the University of Regina in 1996 with a Bachelors of Education, Ms. Gross began her career teaching in a number of schools in Saskatchewan including; Sylvania, Vanguard and later Swift Current. In 2008 she joined Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools as the learning support teacher at St. Anthony’s School in Drumheller. During this time Ms. Gross completed her post degree certificate in Special Education. Betina also took on the role of Early Reading Intervention Leader. Her passion for teaching reading eventually brought her back the classroom to teach Grade 1 and more recently Grade 6. Ms. Gross shares, “I am honoured and excited to be given the opportunity to serve the St. Anthony’s School community. I look forward to joining the administration team to continue the tradition of excellence that has been established in our school.” New Principal Celeste Schrock shares, “Ms. Gross brings to our administration team a wealth of expertise. Since joining St. Anthony’s she has served in a variety of roles, and she has excelled in each of them. For Ms. Gross, teaching is a true vocation. She is passionate about Catholic education, committed to excellence in teaching and learning, and greatly values the importance of positive relationships.” Congratulations!
