Southland Transportation has informed CTR Catholic that rural routes will not run this afternoon (Wednesday, Nov. 2) due to deteriorating conditions in all communities. In-town service will run, but we expect delays. Rural routes are becoming hazardous, therefore, we ask that parents of children riding rural routes make alternate arrangements to pick up your children at school this afternoon or make arrangements for them to stay with a trusted adult. Some school staff will remain on site to supervise students who cannot be picked up at or before the last bell. As always, buses cannot attend to rural routes earlier than the last bell, because we cannot assume that there will be supervision at home in every case. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we respond to these winter conditions.
Happy Catholic Education Sunday! The CTR Catholic schools provide all of our families the opportunity to come to learn the love of God through the gift of public education. This year’s theme for Catholic Education is Walking Together in Catholic Education and it provides words to the experience of learning in CTR Catholic schools. Our parents, teachers, and students walk together on the path of learning; in cooperation to educate the whole child in the knowledge and love of God and creation. From all different walks of life, communities, origins, destinations, ethnicities, cultures, beliefs, outlooks, and genders our school communities are formed. The word Catholic literally means that in our schools all are welcome, and all walk together. So, walk together with us this coming Catholic Education Sunday, November 6, and celebrate this great gift. When we gather to say thank you to our God in the Eucharist, let us together offer gratitude in prayer for the gift of public, faith-based education in Alberta. St. Joseph Calasanz, Patron of Public Catholic Schools, pray for us. 🙏 #ibelieveincatholiced
Today is the Solemnity of All Souls This day we commemorate the Church Penitent, those faithful who have departed this life and prepare for their entry fully into the life of God. The Catholic Church has a long history and tradition of praying for the dead, giving thanks for their lives, and praying for their entry into Heaven. Today, call to mind those who have passed on, and offer a prayer for their repose, that they may at last purge themselves of whatever holds them back from entering fully into the beatific vision. Lord, have mercy on all the faithful departed. Draw them into your perpetual light.

Today is the Feast of All Saints! We celebrate all those who have gone before us, run the race and stayed the course. There are many who are canonized saints, but many more who fill the endless rooms of the Father's house. This Church Triumphant, who have entered fully into the life of God and joyfully await the resurrection, do not rest on their laurels, but continue to intercede for us. Today, take a moment to ask these holy men and women to pray for you, and help you to stay the course, finish the race, and claim the prize. All you holy men and women, pray for us!
