More than 600 teachers and administrators gathered together over the last two days to strength their faith and fellowship during CTR Catholic's annual Faith Days. Teachers, administrators, trustees, priests and deacons travelled from seven different communities for the two-day event at St. James Parish and Holy Trinity Academy in Okotoks. #ctrfaithdays2023

Our schools will be closed next week for Faith Week as Monday is Family Day and Tuesday and Wednesday teachers will gather together for CTR's annual Faith Days. The event provides an opportunity for our teachers to gather and grow in their faith as a school community. 🙏 Following Faith Days, teachers will gather for convention. Classes will resume on Monday, Feb. 27. 🎒
The the deadline for the completion of the Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) survey has been extended to Friday, March 17, 2023. This extension applies to student, teacher, and parent surveys. This extension is necessary due to an unexpected delay in the mail out of the parent survey invitation packages. The packages will still be mailed out in the coming weeks and the extension provides parents with adequate time to complete the survey. Thank you for taking the time to complete this important survey which provides valuable feedback to our division.
Students! Recruitment for the 2023/24 Minister’s Youth Council will officially begin on February 15, 2023. The Ministry of Education is looking for approximately 40 junior and senior high school students between the ages of 14 and 19, with diverse interests, identities, backgrounds and perspectives from across Alberta to join next year's council. Of the 40 council members, they will accept up to eight returning members and at least 32 new members. Participating in the council will give students the opportunity to make a real impact on Alberta’s education system, build their leadership skills, and leave a legacy that will last for generations to come. Survey time is just around the corner! 📈🖊 Parents of students in Grade 4, 7 and 10 are encouraged to fill out the Alberta Education Assurance Survey which will be coming to your mailbox anytime after Feb. 6! Parents will be able to fill out the survey online with a random access code or return the paper copies to Alberta Education. Results of the survey provide important feedback to the province, the division, and your school. Please take a few minutes to respond. Deadline is March 3, 2023.
Forty-two CTR kindergarten to Grade 12 teachers and teacher leaders are immersed in writing during a two-day Writers' Workshop retreat. The retreat provides teachers with hands-on writing experiences and deeper learning in order to better serve students. Writers’ Workshop in schools provides students with authentic writing experiences, time to write, explicit instruction, responsive feedback and frequent writing that improves writing fluency and quality of writing.
CTR Catholic and École Good Shepherd School would like to thank the Government of Alberta through the Community Facility Enhancement Program for their contribution to the resurfacing project at two of Good Shepherd’s playgrounds. 🙏❤

Open house tonight (Thursday, Jan. 26) at Holy Spirit Academy in High River for parents of kindergarten students. You don't have to register to attend. All are welcome, whether Catholic or not.
Teachers heighten their number sense knowledge with the help of CTR's Associate Superintendent Pat MacDonald and Director Learning Cheryl Kuemper who have been travelling throughout the division helping teachers improve on their skills to be able to better assist our students! Great learning happening in CTR!
