CTR schools offer international trips. CTR students are invited to participate in international travel at every secondary school in the division. The Board approved the resumption of planning for international travel for next spring at their last meeting.
Congratulations to Darren Dornstauder who has accepted the position of Vice-Principal of Holy Trinity Academy. Mr. Dornstauder started teaching with Christ the Redeemer in 2013 at St. John Paul II Collegiate and has previously taught at Notre Dame High School in Red Deer. In 2020, Mr. Dornstauder graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters degree in Secondary Education. Mr. Dornstauder currently serves as the co-lead of Health & Physical Education for CTR. In addition to his divisional role, Mr. Dornstauder is a member of the Executive Council with HPEC through the ATA, as well as a mentor teacher for beginning teachers across Alberta with Ever Active Schools. Mr. Dornstauder shares, “I am very humbled and excited for this opportunity to work with and serve the staff, students, and community of Holy Trinity Academy. I believe HTA exemplifies excellence in Catholic education through their commitment to academics, faith, and community, and I am motivated in becoming a contributing member of this school and culture.” Future Principal of Holy Trinity Academy, Diana Atkinson shares, “I am incredibly excited to welcome Mr. Dornstauder to Holy Trinity Academy. Mr. Dornstauder’s strong faith, coupled with his commitment to excellence in academics, health and wellness, lifelong learning and supporting our school community through excellence in teaching and leading make him an outstanding addition to our school and to our Administration Team.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Celeste Schrock who has accepted the position of Principal of St. Anthony's School. After graduating from the Nova Scotia Teachers College in 1997 with a Bachelor of Education, Mrs. Schrock moved west to begin her teaching career at St. Anthony’s School as a junior high PE and Math teacher. In 2001 she completed her Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from Mount St. Vincent University. In 2005, when a second Vice-Principal position was added to the school, Mrs. Schrock was given the opportunity to join the school administrative team. She has served in that role ever since. Over the years Mrs. Schrock has taught a range of grades from elementary to high school and a variety of subjects. Mrs. Schrock shares, “St. Anthony’s School has a long history of high-quality, Catholic Education in the Drumheller Valley. It is an honor to be given the responsibility of continuing that tradition as the next Principal.” Superintendent Dr. Scott Morrison shares, “Mrs. Schrock is a long-serving and talented member of the St. Anthony’s School community. She is a master teacher with superb interpersonal skills, and she’s committed to maintaining St. Anthony’s level of excellence.” Mrs. Schrock will begin her transition to St. Anthony's School in the spring.

Christ the Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Ms. Lacey Dubeau as Vice Principal of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy. After graduating from the University of Windsor in 2011 with a Bachelor of Education, Lacey began her teaching career with CTR Catholic at St. John Paul II Collegiate in Okotoks. In 2012, she moved to Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy in Canmore where she taught as an elementary classroom teacher. In 2016, Lacey transferred to Holy Spirit Academy in High River where she has taught for the past six years in various grades. In addition to her experience as a teacher, she has assumed a variety of leadership roles, including Team Lead, Divisional Team Lead, and Indigenous Team Lead. Inspired by her mentors in CTR Catholic, Lacey completed her Master of Education at the University of Calgary in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Education Research. Lacey shares, “Although I will miss all of my amazing colleagues at Holy Spirit Academy, I am excited to continue my leadership journey in CTR Catholic and return to a school and community that has always had a piece of my heart.” The Principal of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy, Mr. Jamie Landry, shares, “We are very pleased to welcome Ms. Dubeau back to Our Lady of the Snows. Ms. Dubeau is a dynamic educator with a vast tool kit of skills in differentiated instruction, learning support, and conflict resolution and is an authentic Catholic leader.” Ms. Dubeau will begin her position in the fall of 2022.
