St. Luke's students in Okotoks enjoy new bright open-concept facility where they can gather, pray and learn.
Lamb of God offered up on the Holy Cross. Have mercy on us. 🙏🏼
CTR Catholic along with all our schools remain committed to academic excellence, living our faith and the overall wellbeing of staff and students building healthy schools for all. We recognize the importance of student mental health as a component of overall healthy schools. This year, CTR is making it a priority to work closely with our teachers and staff to infuse research-based universal mental health strategies throughout the day to support all students. These supports are used by school staff as a part of their regular classroom instruction and interactions with students so that every student can benefit. Some of the strategies focus on goal-setting, managing anxiety, and regulating one’s mind and body. CTR’s Healthy Schools plan brings our faith and learning community together to focus on the mental, social, physical and spiritual health for the overall wellness of our students and staff. #healthyschoolsCTR
A new purpose-built facility for Okotoks students is well-deserved. 🙏♥️
Christ The Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools Board of Trustees passed a motion to close all CTR schools on Thursday, September 30 to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation during a special meeting of Board called two weeks ago and held today (Sept. 10). Please review our revised Divisional Calendar. A group of more than 500 stakeholders informed the Board’s decision including consultation with Indigenous Elders, Indigenous educational leaders, Indigenous advisors, Indigenous families of CTR, neighbouring school divisions, CTR’s lead teachers on our Indigenous Education Committee, CTR families, and CTR staff. Teaching and learning about Truth and Reconciliation in a meaningful way through the development of common lessons, activities and themes will be a major focus both before and after the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Another symbolic action will be to encourage staff and students to wear orange on Wednesday, Sept. 29, and all CTR schools will lower their flags to half-mast on September 30 as a symbol of this day. CTR is also encouraging families to check their local community for opportunities to engage in commemoration of this day. The Board extends their gratitude to everyone who offered their knowledge, expertise, and input in this engagement process. May God bless Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation process. 🧡

Thank you so much! đź’ž With your help, we served 289 guests with 367 snack bags last Sunday. A special thanks to our great volunteers from Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division who helped with putting the bags together, and the Society of St-Vincent-de-Paul, St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church Conference for the additional loaves of bread & buns. CTR teachers and staff from across the division gathered yesterday either in their schools or virtually for the divisional opening professional development day. The event began with a Mass led by Bishop McGrattan in Okotoks. Mass was also held locally in our other communities. Mass was followed by an address by Superintendent Dr. Scott Morrison and an introduction to universal mental health strategies. This year, CTR is making it a priority to work closely with our teachers and staff to infuse research-based universal mental health strategies throughout the school day to support all students. We continue to pray for our staff as they work to provide a safe space to welcome back students this week.
