Did You Know? ... Students in Christ The Redeemer’s Schools Excel Academically. According to recent survey results, parents are highly satisfied with the education quality at CTR schools CTR’s commitment to academic excellence is proven by these results. CTR’s Education Quality results were 93.4% compared to the provincial average of 89.6%. Parents of students in Grade 4, 7 and 10 are encouraged to fill out the Alberta Education Assurance Survey online. Parents will have received a letter in the mail with a unique online code to complete the survey. Deadline is March 25, 2022.

Did You Know? Parent, Student, and Staff satisfaction rates are over 90%. Alberta’s average rate is 85%. These superb satisfaction rates were earned during the pandemic, demonstrating CTR’s adaptability. On Monday, March 21st, a day we recognize as the International Day for the Elimination of Racism & Discrimination, Christ The Redeemer (CTR) will welcome guest speaker Aubrey Noronha to speak to staff and students across the division in support of CTR’s Many & One initiative. Aubrey will present 4 student sessions: Gr. 1-3, Gr. 4-6, Gr. 7-9 and Gr. 10-12. There will also be a session for parents in the evening at 7 PM! Contact your local principal for the event link. Following their example, all faithful of the Diocese of Calgary are invited to unite in the Diocesan Novena of Prayer for the Synod as we invoke the presence of the Holy Spirit and the Lord’s guidance in preparation for the synod encounters that will take place in our parishes and communities. The Novena will begin today and finish on March 12. It is a fitting time to begin the Novena on the first Friday of the month because of all the graces and spiritual promises of first Friday devotion. Many faithful also have a devotion to a Holy Hour before the Blessed Sacrament on first Friday. People of God throughout the world are called by the Holy Father to begin a journey of listening, dialoguing, praying and discerning together the way in which we have carried forward our life and mission of holiness in the Church and in the world. In his video message Bishop McGrattan invites all the faithful, clergy, religious and consecrated life to join him in local synodal gatherings that will be taking throughout the Diocese of Calgary in the coming weeks. #Synod2022

Congratulations to Janell Toews from Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy on her recent nomination of the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award which will be presented at the JUNO Awards in May 2022! The award was established in 2005 to recognize and honour an exceptional Canadian music teacher each year, those who are often the first to plant the seed for the love of music in a child's life.
