CTR IS COMMITTED TO CATHOLIC EDUCATION: Students, parents, and teachers indicate over 90% satisfaction with the formation, education, and partnerships that support Catholic education within CTR. CTR will continue to infuse faith in all that we do to teach our students that every individual is created in the image of God. We welcome any student/family that desires Catholic education… whether they are Catholic or not!
CTR, formed in 1995, has 15 traditional schools in 7 communities with a student population of over 10,000. CTR offers three outreach schools as well as an online and home education school, the Centre for Learning@HOME, with just over 2,100 students. The division office for CTR Catholic is in Okotoks.

CTR PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST (PAT) RATES ARE CONSISTENTLY HIGH: CTR outperformed the provincial standard on Grades 6 and 9 PATs by 13.3% on the acceptable standard and 4.8% on the excellence standard.
CTR IS COMMITTED TO CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: According to survey results, CTR parents, teachers and students see our schools as improving with a satisfaction rate of 88.8% compared to 75.2% provincially.
CTR SEEKS PARENT, TEACHER AND STUDENT FEEDBACK: CTR provides opportunities throughout the year for feedback from our parents while engaging in dialogue with trustees, students, our local priests and members of the community. Our superintendents and trustees engage with staff and parents through Superchats, Council of School Councils, and Ward meetings across the division. 92.5% of perspective holders consider CTR schools to be welcoming and caring environments, enhanced through access to supports and services.
CTR PREPARES STUDENTS FOR LIFELONG LEARNING: More than 88% of parents, staff and students feel that students are being prepared for lifelong learning as a result of attending a CTR school, compared to 80.4% provincially.
CTR SCHOOLS OFFER INTERNATIONAL TRIPS: CTR students are invited to participate in international travel at every secondary school in the division.
HIGH PERCENTAGE OF CTR STUDENTS QUALIFY FOR RUTHERFORD SCHOLARSHIPS: 87.2% of CTR students qualify for Rutherford Scholarship eligibility, reflective of strong high school course marks. This measures 15% higher than the provincial average of 71.9%.
CTR OFFERS A VARIETY OF OPTION CLASSES TO ALL STUDENTS: Our students have the opportunity to access many options programs to reflect current student interest and diverse needs. Students also have access to hundreds of online options from one of the most successful online schools in the province through the Centre for Learning@HOME.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT LEADS TO STUDENT LEARNING: CTR provides opportunities for staff to enhance their professional development on a regular basis. Have you heard of CLCs? Every Friday afternoon all teachers and support staff from across the division engage in professional learning through the team-based Catholic Learning Communities (CLCs) professional learning process.
CTR IS COMMITTED TO TEACHER SUPERVISION, EVALUATION, AND GROWTH: CTR Catholic has a robust teacher supervision and evaluation system, providing all with assurance that students are in good hands. New teachers are observed at least 10 times in their first year by administrators and superintendents. Experienced teachers receive enhanced supervision every four years, where they set growth goals and are observed by administrators.
CTR PARTNERS WITH LOCAL COMMUNITIES TO SUPPORT STUDENT AND FAMILY WELLNESS: As part of the Mental Health in Schools Pilot Project, CTR and McMan have partnered together to support CTR students and families with family engagement, wellness planning and community resources.
A reminder that CTR staff will be participating in a divisional professional development Wednesday, Jan. 31. Schools will be closed for students across our division. Classes will resume Thursday, Feb. 1.

CTR OFFERS INNOVATIVE FINE ARTS PROGRAMMING: Band, music, art, and drama programs that are second-to-none provide students with opportunities to explore the fine arts including a division-led art gallery and contest, entitled “Curated. Art Collective” which honors the talents of all our students. Programs include drumming, band trips, social justice projects, and so much more!
