Happy World Catholic Education Day! This video from the Alberta Catholic School Trustees' Association captures the robust political support that our trustees continue to celebrate and strengthen to sustain Catholic education in Alberta.
đź’™ During Catholic Education Week you are invited to wear blue in joyful support of Catholic education. Blue is a special colour in the Catholic faith. It reminds the community of constancy, faithfulness, hope, and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Wearing blue is a simple and visible way to celebrate the gift of publicly-funded Catholic education and the important role it plays in learning and faith formation. On World Catholic Education Day, celebrated on Ascension Thursday, wearing blue is also a meaningful sign of unity and pride. #IBelieveinCatholicEd #BlueforCathEd
Faith is at the heart of our schools! During Catholic Education Week, Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools is grateful to celebrate the gift of Catholic education. Students, parents, and teachers shared over 90% satisfaction with religious education, faith formation, and our strong partnership with local parishes. Catholic education helps students grow in faith, learning, kindness, and service each day. #IBelieveinCatholicEd
This week marks Catholic Education Week in the province of Alberta. Please join us as we celebrate the gift of publicly-funded Catholic education. This week we celebrate the freedom of choice in education for our families and are grateful for the right to Christ-centered learning in our schools. We stand joyfully and courageously as we live out the Catholic faith. Remember to also wear blue on World Catholic Education day this Thursday (May 14). #IBelieveinCatholicEd
Today we celebrate all mothers - the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. "We love because he first loved us." John 4:19
CTR Catholic leaders were grateful to take part in Blueprints 2026: Rooted in Christ, engaging in meaningful Catholic leadership formation in Kananaskis this past week. This Catholic leadership retreat invited participants into prayer, reflection, renewal, and vocational grounding as Catholic educators. Speaker Roy Petitfils inspired leaders to remain rooted in Christ as we continue serving our students, staff, and school communities with faith and purpose.
Today, we celebrate National School Communicators Day and give heartfelt thanks to our incredible Communication Leads! Through the stories they share, they help shine a light on the people, moments, and milestones that make each of our schools so special. Their work helps foster connection, build pride, and celebrate the gift of Catholic education in our communities. We are deeply grateful for all that you do!
Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools is grateful to have participated in the Feed the Hungry meal this past Sunday. With support several CTR volunteers and the loving service of Feed the Hungry volunteers, 371 guests enjoyed a full sit-down meal, and 45 guests received takeout meals. Guests were welcomed with salad, butter chicken and rice, desserts, drinks, and hamper packages filled with fresh fruit, snacks, juice, and water. Most importantly, guests were welcomed with dignity, respect, and love. Moments like this remind us of the call to love one another as Christ has loved us. Thank you to everyone who helped make this meal possible. #ctrcatholic
Today, Light has conquered Darkness, Life has conquered Death, the Truth has conquered the Lie - the Christ of God has become the Way back to Him. May God's immense and unending love fill your souls with joy and great hope as we begin Easter. Christian hope is not wishful thinking. It draws deeply from faith in Christ, and is the assurance that the Father always keeps His promises - He will see His plan through to the end! Let this Easter be a time of renewed joy, faith, and hope in the blessings bestowed upon the world by the resurrection of Jesus, who is God with us. Allow the Spirit to inspire us to gratitude for His great gift, and enable us to conform to Christ through prayer, compassion, and unity within our schools and communities. May the abundant blessings of God the Father, Son, and Spirit fill this whole Easter season with peace, happiness, and grace for you and your family. Alleluia!
Today we remember that there is no greater love than laying the Son of God laying down his life for us - his friends. There is no Easter without the cross.
Over two days of Readers’ and Writers’ Workshop PD, CTR teachers explored effective Workshop structures, learned through hands-on experience, and created lessons they can bring directly into the classroom. They left with greater confidence and practical strategies to support strong reading, writing, and meaningful evidence of learning!
A reminder to CTR families, all schools will be closed this Friday, April 3 for Good Friday and will remain closed until Monday, April 13 for the Easter break. Blessings to each one of you for a peaceful Easter!
Little learners talk about Palm Sunday!
Across CTR Catholic, moments like these remind us of the beauty of faith-filled learning in our schools.
Across CTR Catholic, moments like these remind us of the beauty of faith-filled learning in our schools. What a beautiful way to begin Holy Week together as a school family.
There’s something special about the adults in our schools who step into the joy right alongside students. This wonderful moment from St. Mary's School is a reminder that connection, care, and community are often built in the simplest ways. We’re grateful for staff who bring such energy, kindness, and joy to our school communities each day.
Across CTR Catholic, we know meaningful learning begins with relationships. This beautiful moment from École Good Shepherd School is a reminder that education is about more than delivering lessons. It’s about connection, care, and educators who meet students where they are. These small but intentional moments help students feel seen, supported, and ready to learn.
Registration is still open at many of our schools! Visit our website to learn more! https://www.redeemer.ab.ca/register
