CTR HAS INVOLVED PARENTS! Our parental involvement satisfaction rate across the division is 85.7%. Alberta’s average is 79.1%. CTR is committed to engaging its parents and perspective holders in a variety of ways to ensure involvement and influence as the primary educators of their children.

CTR SUPPORTS STUDENT WELLNESS! CTR provides welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environments for all students and staff. CTR’s schools are healthy socially, emotionally, spiritually, physically, and academically. Teachers are trained in integrating universal strategies to support mental wellness as part of their regular teaching. 92.5% of parents, staff and students believe their schools are safe and welcoming, compared to 84.7% provincially.

Great Learning Starts at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Schools! Register today for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten! Students must be five years of age by Dec. 31, 2024 for kindergarten and four years of age for pre-kindergarten. Registration in our kindergarten program guarantees placement in Grade 1 and beyond. We accept registrations year round. All students are welcome whether they are Catholic or not. There are no fees to attend our schools. We are publicly funded. STUDENTS IN CHRIST THE REDEEMER’S SCHOOLS EXCEL ACADEMICALLY: According to recent survey results, parents are highly satisfied with the education quality at CTR schools. CTR’s commitment to academic excellence is proven by these results. CTR’s Education Quality results were 93% compared to the provincial average of 88.1%

PARENT, STUDENT, AND STAFF SATISFACTION RATES ARE AT 90%: Alberta’s average satisfaction rate is 83%. These superb satisfaction rates demonstrate CTR’s commitment to academic excellence in welcoming and caring learning environments. Parents of students in Grades 4, 7 and 10 are encouraged to fill out the Alberta Education Assurance Survey online. The survey will be available in the new year.

Congratulations to this year's Division Christmas Card Contest winner Joanna Smolinski, a Grade 6 student from St. Mary's School in Okotoks ! Joanna's design was used on this year's Christmas card from our Board of Trustees and Senior Administration. Joanna was presented with copies of her Christmas card by Director of Learning Cheryl Kuemper. Thank you to all our students who submitted artwork this year. There were 68 entries.

CTR CONTINUES TO OUTPERFORM THE PROVINCE: CTR outperformed the province on each of the 12 required assurance measures. This is consistent for CTR year over year.

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE 6:15 am – December 08, 2023 All of our schools are open, but some rural routes might not run due to icy conditions and accumulation of snow. Although conditions appear to have improved, significant snowfall and drifting on rural roads has created unsafe driving conditions. We expect in-town buses to run in all communities, but we anticipate that road conditions might cause some to run late. Even where we initially determine that rural buses can travel, individual bus drivers have the authority to cancel routes if they determine that local conditions may be unsafe. In the case that a route is cancelled, Southland Transportation will contact families. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time. Please do not leave children unattended at bus stops, and please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the conditions. CTR will continue to monitor the road conditions throughout the day. PRE-KINDERGARTEN OFFERS CTR STUDENTS AN EARLY START: Three of our schools offer pre-kindergarten programming in Strathmore, Oyen and Okotoks. Getting an early start to education through play-based learning is optimal for child growth and development. Little Flower Pre-kindergarten Programs are offered at Sacred Heart Academy in Strathmore; Assumption School in Oyen and St. Mary’s School and École Good Shepherd School in Okotoks.
