Christ the Redeemer (CTR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Lindsay Avramovic as Vice Principal of St. Francis of Assisi Academy. After graduating from the University of Ottawa in 2011 with a Bachelor of Education, Mrs. Lindsay Avramovic began her teaching career with Christ The Redeemer at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy in Canmore. During that time, she served as an elementary teacher before being appointed to Vice Principal in 2017. In addition to her role as Vice Principal, she also served in the areas of Learning Support and English Language Learning. In 2019, she was appointed as the Director of Catholic Education where she has served the district in providing faith formation opportunities for students and staff, overseeing curriculum, and advocating for Catholic education. Inspired by leaders and mentors within CTR, Mrs. Avramovic pursued her Masters in Administration and Educational Leadership at the University of New Brunswick, graduating in the spring of 2021. Eager to continue her pursuit of lifelong learning, Mrs. Avramovic recently began her Doctorate in Education at Western University with a critical focus on theories of educational leadership and K-12 organizations. Mrs. Avramovic shares, “I am overjoyed for the opportunity to join the administrative team and the beautiful community of staff, students and parents at St. Francis of Assisi. I look forward to joining in their mission of fostering a community of lifelong learners, where challenges are opportunities for growth, and individual gifts and talents are valued. Most importantly, living our Catholic faith with great love –reflecting the peace and goodness of Christ to all.” Principal Mr. James Leidl shares, “Mrs. Avramovic is a passionate and devoted advocate of Catholic education. She is a servant leader with diverse experiences that will be of tremendous value to our school community. Her energy and positivity make her a perfect fit for the role of Vice Principal at St. Francis of Assisi Academy." Mrs. Avramovic will begin her transition in the spring.

Congratulations to Mr. James Leidl who has accepted the position of Principal of St. Francis of Assisi Academy. After graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 2001 with a Bachelors of Education, Mr. Leidl began his teaching career in London, England with stops in Daejeon, South Korea and Humboldt, Saskatchewan. In 2004, he joined Christ the Redeemer as a teacher at Holy Trinity Academy teaching Social Studies and English Language Arts. In 2008, Mr. Leidl's journey found him taking on the role of Vice-Principal at Holy Trinity and he has served in this capacity for the past 14 years. Inspired by many of his colleagues, Mr. Leidl completed his Masters of Education in School Administration at Gonzaga University in 2011. After 18 years collectively at Holy Trinity Academy as a teacher and Administrator, Mr. Leidl is taking on the role of Principal at St. Francis of Assisi Academy. Mr. Leidl shares, “Without Holy Trinity and its history of exceptional leaders, I would not be equipped and prepared to become a Principal. I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join St. Francis of Assisi and its exceptional staff, students and parent community. I am excited and eager to serve and build authentic meaningful relationships within our school. Being awarded the responsibility of continuing the tradition of excellence at St. Francis of Assisi is an honour.” Superintendent Dr. Scott Morrison shares, “Mr. Leidl is an exemplary teacher, a strong leader, and a person of virtue and integrity. Serving as a vice-principal of Holy Trinity Academy, CTR’s largest high school, for over a decade has uniquely equipped him for his new role at St. Francis of Assisi Academy.” Mr. Leidl will begin his transition to St. Francis of Assisi Academy in the spring.
