Staff of the Catholic Education Centre building, along with staff and students of St. Luke's Outreach in Okotoks, were honored to have Bishop McGrattan bless the new Okotoks facility located at 23 Riverside Drive. The special event was live streamed for all staff and students followed by a procession of the Bishop, fellow priests, trustees and senior staff as the Bishop blessed each part of the new facility and school. The Bishop also blessed the crucifixes that will adorn each office and classroom space. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this special day!🙏
Surrounding Catholic Education Sunday in prayer, schools from across CTR Catholic will participate in Division-Wide Adoration from November 1st through to November 12th. Put simply, the act of adoration itself and the centrality of the Eucharist is essential to our Catholic faith. In creating the opportunity and space for an encounter in Adoration, we allow Christ the chance to speak to our hearts. In a world filled with so much noise, the gift of silence is a miraculous gift that we can offer to all staff and students. Calling into mind CTR Catholic’s faith theme, Jesus is the Way, the Truth & the Life, Jesus very clearly tells us in this Gospel where he comforts the disciples that he is the only way to heaven. With this in mind, our WHY for Adoration is clear: bring them to THE Way who is Christ Jesus, bring them to Christ in the silence before the Blessed Sacrament. #IBelieveinCatholicEd

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of All Souls, a time when we call into mind all those who have died and the entire Church Suffering, praying on their behalf for eternal rest. This is a particularly moving time of remembrance of those we love and have lost. It stirs a deep hope both in the act of remembering their lives and interceding for them. Let us pray for the faithful departed and the repose of all souls 🙏
Happy Feast of All Saints! 🙏 This feast begins the month of November and orders our hearts and prayers toward a posture of giving gratitude. All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day differ a bit from our traditional Thanksgiving mindset, in that we are giving thanks for, and asking intercession from those holy witnesses that have gone before us. Today is a day to venerate all of the holy women and men who have already been canonized and the entire Church Triumphant (those in heaven). All the Saints & the Angels, pray for us!

Join us as we begin Day 1 of the Novena to St. Joseph for Catholic Education! DAY 1 - Novena to St. Joseph for Catholic Education Each day of this Novena, we will begin with the Shema, the Jewish confession of faith made up of Deuteronomy 6:4–9 and 11:13–21 and Numbers 15:37–41. Joseph would have taught and prayed this prayer with Jesus. We will draw from scripture and tradition to focus our reflection, offer a suggested prayer starter in response, and conclude with the Memorare to Saint Joseph and the Litany for St. Joseph from the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.

In Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life, Marcellino D'Ambrosio, includes the vital role Joseph played in Jesus' life. He points out that Joseph served as a mentor for Jesus, a teacher for the child Jesus, making him an ideal companion as we journey to Catholic Education Sunday. Follow along with the prayers posted daily here on our Facebook page. #IBelieveInCatholicEd 🙏💙
On November 6 and 7, Catholic dioceses across the province will celebrate Catholic Education Sunday. This is a time to recognize the gift of Catholic education in our community of faith. The theme this year is ‘I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the Lord.’ (Jeremiah 30:17). In anticipation of Catholic Education Sunday, the Catholic Bishops of Alberta and Northwest Territories have written a letter to the faithful which can be found here: http://www.redeemer.ab.ca/documents/general/2021_10_20_Alberta%20Bishops%20Catholic%20Education%20Sunday%20Letter%202021.pdf
