What a beautiful project to share with others! #IBelieveinCatholicEd 🙏💙
A beautiful way to join together all the intentions for those who are suffering physical and mental illness today on World Day of the Sick. See the prayer bulletin from Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Academy in Canmore who have compiled the intentions and will gather together today to pray the rosary, holding up all those in need of strength and healing. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us 💙🙏
Today is World Day of the Sick, an observation introduced by St. Pope John Paul II as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses. The day coincides with the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes and is an important opportunity for us to reflect on caring for those who are sick as well as those who provide care to them. Let us pray for all those who are battling an illness – be it physical or mental – may they come to know God's healing. 🙏
A Kindergarten class at St. Francis of Assisi Academy were fortunate to enjoy a visit with Fr. Troy from St. James Parish today. Their teacher shared that students asked such great questions/comments!: “Who made God?” “Where does God live?” “Are angels invisible?” "Every angel always says DO NOT BE AFRAID and GOD IS OUR FATHER!” “God is our everlasting Father” “There was an angel that visited Mary.” Thanks for sharing with us! Makes our heart sing! #IBelieveinCatholicEd 💙

Thank you to Mrs. Olynyk's class at St. Francis of Assisi Academy for sharing with us the different ways we can love God! Let everything you do be done in love. 1 Corinthians 16:14 #IBelieveinCatholicEd 💙🙏
This Friday we commemorate the World Day of the Sick, an observation introduced by St. Pope John Paul II as a way for believers to offer prayers for those suffering from illnesses. The day coincides with the commemoration of Our Lady of Lourdes and is an important opportunity for us to reflect on caring for those who are sick as well as those who provide care to them. We invite you to join us in prayer as we raise up those in our lives who are battling physical or mental illness, that they might know God's healing strength 🙏
Lord, hear our prayer 🙏

O God of Mercy and Tender Compassion, we cry out to you in this time of crisis. Hear the cries of the people of Ukraine. Bring healing to those suffering from violence. O God of hope, sustain those who labor for peaceful and just solutions. Inspire leaders and decision makers to choose the way of peace over the way of violence. Deliver all your children from the threat of war and teach us to encounter one another with reverence and love. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ who came to bring to peace on earth and who abides with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen. – adapted from a prayer by Sr. Deborah Harmeling, O.S.B. 🙏

Fr. Troy Nguyen, Associate Pastor of St. James Parish in Okotoks and a priest within the CTR family shares, "There are many more instances I could describe where Catholic education creates opportunities to encounter our Lord and the Catholic faith. These opportunities to reach out to students are only available to me because the administration and teachers allow me to come to visit the school. It may be much more difficult if not impossible to enter another school not focused on Catholic education. So, while there is much to be grateful for, there is much to continue to strive for if we want to maintain Catholic education. We need to pray for our teachers and administration and we need to continue to be intentional in forming their faith so that they can evangelize to our children from an authentic heart. We need to remain firm in our Catholic identity so that we can transmit the Catholic faith in its fullness and this is what differentiates us from public education."
