In this season of Advent we await eagerly for the coming of Jesus. It is a season for the preparation of ourselves as much as for our homes. We invite you to visit your parish and receive the sacrament of Reconciliation to prepare your heart for Jesus. Come, Lord Jesus! Maranatha!
STUDENTS CONTINUE TO THRIVE IN CTR: Our Annual Education Result Report (AERR) demonstrates our continued academic excellence within our Catholic faith. Once again, CTR scored above the province in all achievement categories and supports strong faith formation across the division. Aid to the Church in Need (ACN Canada) will hold its annual Red Wednesday on November 22. Across the world, 327 million Christians live in a country where there is persecution at various degrees. Because of their faith, they endure discrimination, scorn, arrest, incarceration, torture, and sometimes even death. It is estimated that 75% of acts of violence for religious reasons are perpetrated against Christians, making them the most persecuted group. We invite all staff and students to unite themselves with the persecuted by praying a decade of the rosary on Wednesday, November 22. acn-canada.ord/red-wednesday Lord, we pray that every being, regardless of their religion, live in peace and harmony without any kind of persecution. 🙏 #RedWednesday

Following All Saint's Day we celebrate the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed, known also as the All Souls' Day. It is a time when we call into mind all those who have died and the entire Church Suffering, praying on their behalf for eternal rest. This is a particularly moving time of remembrance of those we love and have lost. It stirs a deep hope both in the act of remembering their lives and interceding for them. Let us pray for all the faithful departed and the repose of all souls
CTR Catholic schools provide all of our families the opportunity to come to learn the love of God through the gift of public education. This year’s theme for Catholic Education Sunday is “Courage to Lead" and it shows the place of Catholic education in being a light to the world. Parents, educators, administrators, trustees, and clergy all hold a responsibility of leadership to strengthen and promote Catholic education in our society. It is through this gift of publicly-funded Catholic education that we lead the children entrusted to our care to know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. Join us this coming Catholic Education Sunday, November 5, and celebrate this great gift. When we gather to say thank you to our God in the Eucharist, let us together offer gratitude in prayer for the gift of public, faith-based education in Alberta. #IBelieveinCatholicEd
This is a perfect example of the safe and caring nature of CTR schools. The kindness shown by all staff in daily interactions with our students is evident here and true testament to our motto of "Leave Not One Heart Behind". Thank you to all our staff who daily show our students they are loved and cared for. ❤
