Congratulations to the Holy Trinity Academy Knights who played in the ASAA Provincial Championships on Friday. We are as proud of you in your loss as we would have been if you had won. But the supreme source of our pride comes in this moment right here - prayer initiated by coach Matthew Hassett. A call to both Catholic teams to pray at the end of the game, even in defeat. A truly sacramental moment. Notice all the coaches who instinctively lay hands on the knights, praying they’ll be blessed. This is the beauty of Catholic education. This is the beauty of our Catholic faith.
Grace: Grateful Advocates for Catholic Education has released their November newsletter! GRACE CTR: Grateful Advocates for Catholic Education at Christ The Redeemer shares their new chair, and you will spot some of our schools in the highlights! #IBelieveInCatholicEd
I started my day with an early morning meeting with Minister Adriana LaGrange. We took the time to discuss the feedback I have received on the draft curriculum, the health of our children and teachers, and as always, advocating for our rural schools. Thank you Minister for your time and for always having an open door to discuss the concerns of my constituents. CTR Catholic Schools in Okotoks including St. Francis of Assisi Academy, St. John Paul II Collegiate, École Good Shepherd School, Holy Trinity Academy and St. Mary's School spent the month of October collecting winter clothing for Jacket Racket, a joint initiative with the Okotoks United Church and St. James Parish. Together they supported those in need in the community of Okotoks, but also Siksika Nation! Thanks to all your support, you’ve literally warmed the hearts of hundreds of families this winter!

Congratulations to CTR Catholic Board Trustee, Harry Salm, who was recently appointed as the new President for the Alberta Catholic School Trustees' Association! Today Aid to the Church in Need (ACN Canada) hold its 7th annual Red Wednesday, an opportunity to raise awareness and to pray for persecuted Christians, who are the most discriminated against religious group in the world. For all the Christians in this world who cannot practice their faith without fear and those who, every day, announce the Good News at the peril of their own safety. We pray to the Lord 🙏
The iGEM 2021 online Jamboree closed this past weekend. We're very proud of the Alberta teams we supported through our program, iGEM Calgary, University of Lethbridge iGEM team, Lethbridge High School iGEM team, Christ the Redeemer Catholic School Division, and Renert, for their great results. Congratulations to all the teams!
It is hard to imagine that people can be discriminated against, or worse, persecuted because of their faith. Today, across the world, 327 million Christians live in a country where there is persecution of various degrees. Because of their faith, individuals have and continue to endure discrimination, arrest, incarceration, torture, and in some cases are killed. Join us in wearing red tomorrow to show solidarity with Christians who are suffering.
SAVE THE DATE! Join us for an evening of praise and worship led by Steve Angrisano during the First Week of Advent on Thursday, December 2nd at 7:00 PM. A LIVE session for CTR staff, students and families to attend from the comforts of their home. EXCITING NEWS! We have acquired a special add-on Zoom feature to ensure up to 1000 participants are able to attend! Come in the quiet of the evening to center your hearts on the reason for the season – JESUS – who is the Way, the Truth & the Life. **Please speak to your school principal about obtaining access to Zoom link.
Congratulations to our CTR community priest, Fr. Marino Infante who is celebrating 25 years of Priesthood! Fr. Marino offers pastoral leadership in Brooks for Holy Family Academy, Christ The King Academy, St. Joseph's Collegiate and St. Luke's Outreach! We are so blessed to have you as part of our CTR Catholic family! #IBelieveinCatholicEd
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN Canada) will hold its 7th annual Red Wednesday on November 17. The goal of the event is to raise awareness and to pray for persecuted Christians, who are the most discriminated against religious group in the world. We invite all staff and students to join us in wearing red this Wednesday to show their support. Lord, we pray that every being, regardless of their religion, live in peace and harmony without any kind of persecution. 🙏
Today, Nov. 11 Canadians pause in silence to remember those who died from war, and to pray for the victims of aggression and inhumanity throughout the world. Let us pray 🙏 For those who gave their lives for our country, that the Lord grant them eternal rest; For veterans and their families, may they continue to serve our country in civilian life and be welcomed and supported in our communities. For an end to the violence perpetrated by harsh words, deadly weapons, or cold indifference. May our homes, our nation, and countries around the world become havens of peace.
Congratulations Mrs. Paulgaard from Holy Trinity Academy who is the 2021 recipient of the ATA Science Council Outstanding Science Teacher Award. 👏
