Today, on World Teachers' Day, we recognize and celebrate the 600 amazing teachers across our division. We remain full of gratitude to our teachers for their dedication and commitment to student learning, academic excellence, growth and wellness. Since its inception in 1994, World Teachers’ Day has grown into a celebration of and for more than 32 million teachers in over 170 countries around the world. Thank you for all you do, CTR Catholic teachers! 🙏 #WorldTeachersDay

Throughout this week, CTR schools across the division will focus on age-appropriate student learning, raising awareness of the impact of residential schools, honouring the experience of survivors, their families and communities, and building cultural awareness. Staff and students are also encouraged to wear orange on Friday, Sept. 29. CTR is also encouraging families to check their local community for in-person and online opportunities to engage in commemoration of this day on September 30. May God bless Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation process. 🧡

We are now accepting applications for Non-Certificated Classroom Supervisors (NCCS). Casual, on call positions are available at all CTR Catholic schools. Under the direction of the administrator, NCCS' will supervise students, maintain a positive learning environment, and follow a set day plan in the event a teacher is absent and a certified substitute teacher is not available. A Bachelors degree or diploma in a field related to youth, education, social work, or recreation, and 3-5 years of experience working with youth, is preferred. CTR Catholic Education Centre staff received a unique blessing from Father Vijay Bathineni at St. James Parish today. The blessing was for our vehicles! As many CTR staff travel across the division's diverse geographic area from Okotoks, High River, Canmore, Strathmore, Drumheller, Brooks and Oyen throughout the school year, Father blessed the staff and their vehicles for safe travel.
