Wishing all of our students and families a wonderful and safe Halloween! 🎃
Catholic school communities are critical and valued partners in the mission of the Church, as parishioners share sincere appreciation for Catholic education and their deep concern for young people. Bishop McGrattan extends his invitation to one of four Pastoral Renewal Gatherings across the diocese in November. Members of Christ The Redeemer School Communities are invited to not only attend, but to bring as many of your team, trustees, parents, leaders and teachers as possible. https://www.catholicyyc.ca/renewal.html

TRANSPORTATION UPDATE 6:21 am – October 24, 2023 All of our schools are open, and all buses are expected to be running. Although we expect buses to run, we anticipate that slippery and challenging road conditions might cause some to run late. Please do not leave children unattended at bus stops, and please ensure that they are dressed appropriately for the conditions. Even where we initially determine that rural buses can travel, individual bus drivers have the authority to cancel routes if they determine that local conditions may be unsafe. In the case that a route is cancelled, Southland Transportation will contact families. In-town stops will not be accommodated either, if the route is cancelled. CTR will continue to monitor the road conditions throughout the day. Visit www.redeemer.ab.ca for up-to-date bus route information on the “Bus Status” tab in the top right of the webpage. Students and staff driving to school should use extra caution and plan for additional travel time.
Bishop McGrattan has called a fast in the Diocese of Calgary to occur on Tuesday, October 17. This is in response to the global request of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Pierbattista Cardinal Pizzaballa. The call is for a day of fasting, abstinence, and prayer; in particular, to pray the Rosary in request of the intercession of the Mother of God for the gift of peace. If you would like information about how your family can pray together with the Church on this day for peace, please see the letter from the Diocese of Calgary: https://www.redeemer.ab.ca/documents/e657306e-f04c-4d40-8d8b-5674fce98841?fingerprint=ppb20251217033225
Celebrate National School Bus Safety Week Oct. 15-21, 2023. 🚌 Remember, "Reds Flashing Means No Passing." The fine for passing a school bus with its red lights flashing is $567 and six demerit points. Let's work together to ensure our students get to and from school safely! Calling all artists! Students are invited to submit a piece of artwork to be used for this year's CTR Catholic division Christmas card. ✉️🎨 The artwork selected will be printed on a greeting card! The winning artist will also receive copies of the card. Here are some points to keep in mind: 1. A religious Christmas focus should be evident. 2. Colour would enhance visual composition and reproduction. 3. Please no words on the images. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 10. Talk to your teacher about submitting your artwork!
